The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) was established in 2008 to honour the memory of John Thornton, a young Royal Marines Officer who was tragically killed at the age of 22, whilst serving in Afghanistan.
The JTYAF supports young people from a wide range of youth organisations providing them with scholarships and bursaries to support their personal development and the pursuit of their ambitions.
Since its formation in 2008 the JTYAF has made awards to over 250 young people which total nearly £170,000
John touched the lives of many people and now his legacy lives on making a real difference to the lives of young people.
